Key Takeaways:
- Andhra Pradesh will host India’s largest Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturing facility, backed by a ₹1,593 crore investment from Syrma Group.
- The project, based in Menakuru village, Naidupeta, is expected to generate over 2,100 new jobs.
- Syrma Strategic Electronics Pvt. Ltd. (SSEPL) will lead the initiative with an investment of ₹1,076 crore, marking the first project under the state’s newly introduced Electronics Components Manufacturing and Supply (ECMS) Policy.
- The state government will offer significant incentives, including 75% subsidized land costs, to facilitate the establishment of these high-tech facilities.
Groundbreaking Investment to Boost Electronics Manufacturing
In a meaningful development for the electronics sector of India, Andhra Pradesh has greatly won out by establishing a manufacturing facility for Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) that is the country’s largest.
SSEPL took the lead on this project planned for Menakuru village in Naidupeta. This location represents a vital step for strengthening the nation’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem.
SSEPL’s investment of ₹1,076 crore in this state-of-the-art PCB manufacturing and research and development (R&D) facility will create 1,011 job opportunities in the region. This initiative will be the first to be grounded under Andhra Pradesh’s newly launched Electronics Components Manufacturing and Supply (ECMS) Policy (2025–30), designed to boost the state’s position as a leader in electronics production.
Strategic Incentives to Drive Growth
The Andhra Pradesh government has committed substantial support to this project by offering “early-bird” incentives under the ECMS policy. These include a 75% subsidized land allocation for 12.56 acres in Menakuru, facilitated through the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC). These measures are part of the state’s broader effort to attract investment in the electronics sector, reduce reliance on imports, and create a sustainable local supply chain.
The plant will produce a variety of PCBs, including single-layer, multilayer, High-Density Interconnect (HDI), and flexible PCBs. These products are essential components used in multiple industries, including consumer electronics, automotive, telecommunications, and renewable energy. The facility aims to reduce India’s dependence on PCB imports, addressing a significant gap in the electronics value chain.
Additional Syrma Group Investments
In addition to the PCB facility, the Syrma Group has received approval for two more projects in the same region. Syrma Components Pvt. Ltd. will establish a Copper Clad Laminate (CCL) manufacturing unit with an investment of ₹417.78 crore. This facility will create 647 jobs and will occupy 10 acres of land, also at a subsidized cost. Furthermore, Syrma SGS Technology Ltd. will set up an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) facility, with an investment of ₹100 crore and 510 new jobs, covering 4.14 acres of land.
Together, these projects will generate more than 2,100 jobs and contribute ₹1,593 crore in investments, further cementing Andhra Pradesh’s position as a key hub for electronics manufacturing.
Andhra Pradesh’s Growing Role in Electronics Manufacturing
This landmark development underscores Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to becoming a global player in electronics manufacturing. With the state’s forward-thinking policies and strategic incentives, it is poised to attract further investments and help drive India’s ambition of becoming a global electronics powerhouse. The approvals for these projects were finalized by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) on August 28, following recommendations from the State Investment Promotion Committee (SIPC).
Through the ECMS policy, the Andhra Pradesh government aims to make significant strides in the electronics components manufacturing sector, boosting local production, reducing import dependence, and creating thousands of jobs in the process.
