In a bold stride toward manufacturing self-sufficiency, Tynor Orthotics, India’s leading orthopaedic aid producer, has inaugurated its ₹300 crore Ortech Textiles facility in Mohali, Punjab. The advanced plant is a major leap in the company’s backward integration strategy and is built to operate independently of Chinese imports, aligning strongly with the national ‘Make in India’ initiative.
Advanced Manufacturing to Boost Quality and Efficiency
Spanning six acres, the Ortech facility represents a major technological leap for Tynor Orthotics. Outfitted with cutting-edge equipment such as 3D and jacquard knitting machines, precision lamination systems, and advanced neoprene fabric production units, the plant sets a new benchmark in technical textile manufacturing for medical applications. The facility will ensure uniformity, durability, and ergonomic design in the raw materials used for orthopaedic aids—enabling Tynor to standardize product quality at a global level.
Designed as a fully backward-integrated unit, Ortech will operate with in-house R&D support and automated quality control systems, significantly reducing reliance on external suppliers. This not only insulates Tynor from global supply chain disruptions but also accelerates time-to-market for new innovations. According to Chairman and MD Dr. P. J. Singh, the plant is projected to enhance product quality by 25% and reduce raw material costs by a similar margin. These operational efficiencies are expected to play a critical role in the company’s ambitious plan to scale revenues from ₹600 crore to ₹2,000 crore in the coming years.
Employment Generation and Global Expansion on the Horizon
The launch of Ortech Textiles is also a major employment catalyst for the region, with an estimated 1,000–1,500 new job opportunities to be created across technical, managerial, and operational roles. This expansion reflects Tynor’s larger growth trajectory and its vision to foster skilled job creation in line with India’s industrial development goals.
Executive Director A. J. Singh confirmed the company’s plan to double its workforce from 2,500 to 5,000 employees, leveraging the expanded production capacity and enhanced vertical integration. With a presence in over 60 countries and a strong foothold in India and five international markets, Tynor is now setting its sights on capturing 100 emerging global markets. The Ortech facility is expected to serve as a cornerstone of this global strategy—enabling faster, leaner, and more competitive product delivery to international customers while bolstering Tynor’s reputation as a world-class orthopaedic solutions provider.
