Strategic Expansion to Support India’s Green Energy Goals
BCL Industries has announced a major investment of Rs 150 crore for the establishment of a bio-energy plant in Kharagpur, West Bengal. The project, with a production capacity of 75 KLPD (kiloliters per day), has received the necessary environmental clearance. This initiative reinforces the company’s dedication to expanding its renewable energy portfolio and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
Parallel Projects Driving Growth in Bio-Energy
In addition to the West Bengal plant, BCL Industries is advancing a similar 75 KLPD bio-energy project in Bathinda, Punjab. Both initiatives are expected to be operational within the next 18-24 months. These projects play a crucial role in India’s broader efforts to increase ethanol production, which supports the use of eco-friendly fuels in the automotive sector. Ethanol, derived from biomass and agricultural waste, helps reduce carbon emissions by blending with conventional petrol.
Strengthening the Renewable Energy Footprint
BCL Industries’ recent investments underline its strategic push towards sustainable energy solutions. In October, the company revealed plans to invest Rs 350 crore for a biogas plant and distillery in Haryana, including a 20 MTPD (metric ton per day) biogas facility in Fatehabad. These investments highlight the company’s commitment to promoting renewable energy sources, reducing carbon footprints, and aligning with India’s environmental sustainability goals.
