Dabur Landmark Agreement Signed with Tamil Nadu Government
Dabur India, a leading consumer goods company, is set to embark on its inaugural manufacturing venture in South India with a significant ₹400 crore investment in Tamil Nadu. The company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government on Thursday to establish a cutting-edge manufacturing facility at the SIPCOT Food Park in Tindivanam, Villupuram district.
Economic Boost and Job Creation in the Delta Region
The initial phase of the project will involve an investment of ₹135 crore, which will be gradually scaled up to ₹400 crore over the next five years. This new facility is expected to create direct employment for around 250 people and thousands of indirect job opportunities in the surrounding region. The plant will bolster Dabur’s capacity to meet the growing demand for its products in the southern market and also provide local farmers with new avenues to supply their agricultural produce, enhancing the local economy.
Dabur’s Strategic Expansion in a Thriving Industrial Hub
Dabur’s CEO, Mohit Malhotra, expressed gratitude to the Tamil Nadu government for their support, emphasizing the importance of this investment in strengthening the company’s market presence in South India. The new plant, designed to be one of Dabur’s most advanced and environmentally sustainable facilities, will produce a diverse range of products, including the well-known Red Toothpaste, Odonil, and Honey, tailored to meet the rising consumer demand in the region.
