PURE EV Announces ₹400 Crore New Facility in Telangana

PURE EV, a leading Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer incubated at IIT Hyderabad’s i-TIC, announced plans to establish its second manufacturing facility in Telangana. The new facility will span 46 acres and require an investment of ₹400 crore, according to Founder and Managing Director Dr. Nishanth Dongari. An additional ₹100 crore will be allocated toward research and development, marketing, and branding efforts. Scheduled to commence operations in mid-FY27, the upcoming facility will significantly increase PURE EV’s production capacity, complementing its existing facility in Sangareddy, which was set up with an investment of ₹220 crore.

Enhanced Production and Product Innovation:

The new facility is set to elevate PURE EV’s production capacity to 2 lakh units annually, compared to the current facility’s 40,000 units, which is presently operating at 40% capacity. Dr. Dongari emphasized the company’s focus on electric motorcycles, a segment accounting for 70% of India’s two-wheeler market. PURE EV has already introduced two models: the ecoDryft, aimed at the 110cc market, and the eTryst, catering to the 125cc segment. Both vehicles are built on the company’s innovative X-Platform, which delivers an impressive 171 km range per charge and incorporates advanced powertrain technologies. PURE EV is also the first in India to integrate Nano PCM (Phase Change Material) into its battery systems, a cutting-edge innovation that ensures efficient thermal management and eliminates safety risks.

Future Plans and Technological Advancements:

Having sold over 75,000 EVs across India, PURE EV is targeting 1 lakh units by FY 2027. The company is also gearing up for the launch of its next-generation PURE Power platform in CY25, which promises triple the surge power and double the lifespan of existing systems. Additionally, PURE EV plans to introduce generative AI-powered customer support in regional languages, aiming for personalized communication and timely service delivery. To bolster its market presence, the company intends to add 250 dealerships over the next 30 months, bringing its network to over 320 outlets nationwide. With more than 120 IP applications, PURE EV continues to position itself as a leader in high-performance, innovative electric vehicles.
